Adonix, Inc., the Applix Reseller of the Year for 2001 and 2002 and a leading supplier of accounting systems, budgeting and forecasting, business intelligence, and customer relationship management solutions, announced the results of a recent Applix customer survey, showing that 58 percent of respondents realize a 100 percent return on investment within the first six months of deployment. Adonix has been offering Applix TM1 since 1997.
“The results of this survey are exciting but are no real surprise to us, “said Michael Mahoney, Adonix President and CEO. “Our customers, including government contractors, high-tech firms, and associations, have always found TM1 to be a great solution to help them accelerate their business decisions.”
Applix’s customer survey also identified key business areas where TM1 contribute to a reduction of time or manpower:
· Nearly one third of Applix customers estimated a reduction of 50 percent or more in time spent on budgeting and planning.
· More than half of the respondents estimated a reduction in either yearly or quarterly closings; of those that reduced closings, 100 percent reported a timesavings of at least 20 percent.
· More than 60 percent of customers reported a savings in human resources, with one-third of those reporting a savings of 30 percent or more.
“Applix customers rely on TM1 to make business critical decisions,” said David Mahoney, Applix, President and CEO of Applix. “Our recent survey demonstrates that customers see tangible, measurable benefits from implementing Applix’s BI and Business Performance Management solutions.”
Adonix customers are representative of the Applix sample. At Lockheed Martin, the financial unit that performs accounting operations for more than a dozen other operating units upgraded its reporting with a combination of Adonix consulting services and Applix’s TM1 OLAP (online analytical processing) engine. They implemented what could have been a $1,000,000 solution for less than one-tenth the cost and within 200 hours.
According to Tom Hudson, program administrator for Federal Systems Shared Services at Lockheed Martin, the return on investment with TM1 and Adonix was realized in the first two months. “A common request is for analysis of expenses by element – e.g., travel,” said Hudson. “Before, if a department wanted an analysis, we’d re-key their data into a spreadsheet. Now we just click on a drop list or two to filter a report to get the info we need instantly. That alone has saved at least twenty hours a month.”
Another Applix client, Primedia’s Consumer Media & Magazine Group, which publishes more than 150 popular Broadreach and Enthusiast magazines, must keep track of financials for three separate locations. “When the business began its rapid growth, our Excel system became unwieldy,” said Jeffrey Polner, senior director of Financial Systems & Analysis. Polner and his team now use TM1 for many different aspects of their business: corporate general ledger, publication and circulation statistics, sales commission tracking and circulation, production and distribution budgeting and forecasting. Said Polner. “Conservatively speaking, this system has saved us at least $500,000 a year in headcount costs alone.”
