Host Analytics, the leader in cloud-based enterprise performance management (EPM) announced record bookings earlier this month in its most recently-closed fourth quarter. The company’s growth was driven by continued strong adoption of its cloud-based EPM service by larger enterprises as well as the company’s unique approach to customer success.
New Customers and Customer Expansion
The company won a number of large enterprises and rapidly-growing companies throughout the fourth quarter including Alcohol Monitoring Systems, Grande Cheese Company, Lorna Jane Australia, Mosaica Education Inc., Novitex Enterprise Solutions, Ollie’s Bargain Outlet, Inc., OPower, P&S Holdings LLC, Rhapsody International, Synopsys, and many more. The company also booked multiple millions of dollars from Oracle-Hyperion replacements. Hyperion users turned to Host Analytics to modernize their financial processes while gaining the finance ownership, increased business agility, improved trust, and lower overall costs provided by Host Analytics’ cloud-based delivery model.
Throughout 2013, leading analyst firms highlighted the high customer satisfaction of Host Analytics customers. The company’s subscription-based business model naturally aligns the interests of Host Analytics with its customers. For that reason, Host Analytics provides a unique combination of resources to go beyond traditional customer support to truly help customers leverage best practices, take full advantage of new features delivered on a quarterly basis, and to realize maximum value from their solution. The company won numerous add-on opportunities in the fourth quarter including key expansions at Atlantic Media, Flow International, Guidewire, Jasper Wireless, Sanmina, Talend, and many more.
“Everything we do starts with customer success,” said Dave Kellogg, CEO at Host Analytics. “Cloud isn’t just a technology delivery model, it’s also a business model. That model puts customers at the center of the relationship. I’m extremely proud of what our team delivered in the fourth quarter and 2013, and am excited for 2014 as leaders in Finance continue to recognize the inevitability of cloud-based EPM and turn to Host Analytics as the company that has successfully moved the most on-premises EPM deployments to the Cloud.”
In November, Host Analytics announced Host Analytics AirliftXL, an industry-first mechanism to instantly transform and move Microsoft Excel models into a centralized, secure, cloud-based EPM environment to facilitate financial planning and reporting. The new Host Analytics AirliftXL technology – now included at no additional charge as part of the Host Analytics EPM Suite – enables rapid migration with the fastest time-to-value in the EPM market. It also eliminates the cost and rework associated with recreating existing models in an EPM system.
Host Analytics AirliftXL utilizes a new patent-pending Application Transformation Engine that intelligently parses even complex spreadsheets to instantly create and import new models into the Host Analytics cloud platform. The “lift” comes from the ability to:
- Capture and reuse Excel formulas, formatting and model structures
- Automatically validate existing spreadsheets to prevent moving errors into EPM applications
- Rapidly migrate existing models from legacy on-premises EPM applications

Investing in the Ecosystem
The company announced the Appointment of Andy Ross as Vice President of Alliances to lead the next evolution of the company’s partner programs. Throughout the quarter, the company continued to add new services, reseller, and technology partners and formally announced new agreements with Adaptive Solutions and Brittenford Systems. The ecosystem of service providers around Host Analytics continues to grow as implementers and integrators recognize the growing momentum of cloud-based EPM and Host Analytics position as the leader in the segment.
Nationwide Cloud EPM Roadshow
To address widespread interest in cloud-based solutions for Finance, Host Analytics kicked off a nationwide roadshow in the fourth quarter. The roadshow was highlighted by keynotes from multi-billion dollar companies who replaced traditional on-premises EPM from Oracle-Hyperion with Host Analytics, as well as fast-growing startups that outgrew less robust cloud alternatives and turned to Host Analytics to support their next phase of growth. The roadshow also included best-practices sessions from experts at Accenture and MorganFranklin, who helped attendees understand the opportunity of cloud-based EPM, and the approaches and considerations to achieve success.
Host Analytics continued to be recognized by leading industry analyst and research firms covering the performance management market. In October, Host Analytics announced its inclusion as a top-three vendor in The 2013 Value Index for Financial Performance Management (FPM) from Ventana Research. Host Analytics Cloud EPM Suite received strong marks for its maturity and appropriateness based on user requirements relating to FPM methodology and processes.
The report evaluated nine FPM products, placing Host Analytics’ cloud-based solution squarely in Ventana Research’s “Hot Product” category. The report categorized the remaining six evaluated FPM products in the warm, cold or frigid categories. The report noted that Host Analytics’ full-featured, cloud-based solution offers a well-integrated set of capabilities supporting the needs of financial organizations by enabling the automation of key financial processes as well as support for insightful and forward-looking analytics.
