Host Analytics Finds Success on the Wisdom of Crowds Report

While breaking the report into 33 categories (you can see ratings for 2016, 2017, and as a whole by downloading the entire report, Dresner had this to say about Host Analytics’ success in the planning market:

“An Overall Leader in the Customer Experience Model and a Trust Leader in the Vendor Credibility Model, Host Analytics is generally above the overall sample and is best in class for product scalability, ease of upgrade/migration to new versions, technical support professionalism, continuity of personnel, and time to resolve problems. It maintains a perfect recommend score.”

Understanding the Customer Experience and Vendor Credibility Models

What does this mean? Similar to the Magic Quadrant, Dresner’s research classifies the products in one of four categories. However, this report offers two different groupings: The Customer Experience Model and the Vendor Credibility Model, which are based on different categories. In short, each has four categories, discussed below:

Customer Experience Model

Nearly all vendors fell into one of four categories—Technology Leaders, Overall Experience Leaders, Contenders, and Service Leaders based on rankings for Product/Technology and Sales/Service

  • Technology Leaders: Ranked highly in Product/Technology, slightly less well regarded in Sales/Service
  • Overall Experience Leaders: Ranked highly in both Product/Technology and Sales/Service
  • Service Leaders: Ranked highly on Sales/Service but lower on Product/Technology
  • Contenders: Ranked lower in both Product/Technology and Sales/Service
  • Outside the ‘Magnifying Glass’: Had much lower position than even the contenders.

Host Analytics joined Jedox, Prophix, and Centage in the Overall Experience Leaders Category (page 72, fig. 54).

Vendor Credibility Model

The vendor credibility model considers how customers “feel” about their vendor (fig. 55), with vendors ranked on perceived value (“Value” Axis) and integrity, (“Confidence” Axis)

  • Value Leaders: Ranked highly in Value, slightly less well regarded in Confidence
  • Credibility Leaders: Ranked highly in both Value and Confidence
  • Trust Leaders: Ranked highly on Confidence but lower on Perceived Value
  • Contenders: Ranked lower in both Product/Technology and Sales/Service
  • Outside the ‘Magnifying Glass’: Had much lower position than even the contenders.

Nearly every planning vendor landed in the ‘Trust Leader’ category, with Host Analytics appearing on the edge of ‘Credibility Leader’ (Page 74, Fig. 55).
