How to Set Up Named Printers in Microsoft Dynamics GP

Did you know that you can assign specific printers to specific processes? To achieve this, you can use Named Printers to specific which printer is used for each process/report/form on a user, machine, company, system basis. 

1) Go to Setup>System>Named Printers.

This setup now allows Stacy to print Earning Statements automatically to PDF, while other processes can print to her default printer.

2) Verify the User ID, Company Name and Task Series. Make any necessary changes before going to the next step.

3) And lastly, under printer class, choose from the drop down list. Under printer ID, you can choose any printer that you desire.

In this case they want to enable the users to automatically print to PDF, while other processes can print to the default printer.

Now, you have set up your named printers! Remember these can be changed at any time and each person can choose which printers work best for them.   Happy Printing!
