How does the largest trade association for biotechnology companies, academic institutions, state biotechnology centers, and more focus on its mission in the wake of a highly complex annual budgeting, planning and operating cycle? How does said trade organization answer a multitude of challenges created by diverse planning templates at all levels of the organization? The answer, of course, is an effective budgeting and planning software—Host Analytics—implemented by the team at Wipfli/Brittenford Systems.

The organization, which formerly used the now discontinued Microsoft Forecaster, needed a new budgeting and forecasting solution to push them toward the future, requiring department, project and employee compensation planning, as well as the ability to roll up department and project budgets across multiple points throughout the organization.
Working with Brittenford, BIO was able to find an answer to these needs in the cloud based, Gartner recognized enterprise performance management solution in Host Analytics that provided them with the budgeting and planning solution to meet all of their needs.
The project was to stand up a Budgeting and Planning solution along with Executive and Financial and Dashboard Reporting. Host Analytics was chosen for both its Excel familiar planning front-end as well as its ability to stand up multiple connected planning models. The project duration was approximately four months.
