Microsoft’s Dynamics GP platform has been a mainstay for mid-sized enterprises for nearly three decades, and as the years go by, the company has continued to improve the product offering with each new release. In line with their release schedule, Microsoft announced that it would be releasing Dynamics GP 2018 last year, setting a December 1, 2017 release date and changing to an annual release schedule.
Leading up to the event, we discussed some of the top new features in a three-part series, and would today like to share with you a second look at these new features, as well as invite you to ask questions and see for yourself the improvements that have been made in a July 12 webinar.
Comprehensive Document Attach
One of the biggest improvements to the platform was the “Comprehensive Document Attach” functionality, which enables users to attach multiple documents to Items, Customers, Vendors, Assets and Transactions. It makes it easier and reduces the number of clicks to get information by having instant access to documents like signed documents, W-9’s, Contracts, Credit Reports, Customer POs, pictures. Any document you can think of can be attached or you could attach a link to a OneDrive site or SharePoint. Document Attach was built with the intent to expand based on user needs, and this new functionality expands on the original iteration. We discussed this feature in depth here.
Microsoft made some important improvements to workflows, adding three new workflows to the product based on informative feedback from the Dynamics Community. These new workflows appear for the GL Account, Receivables Transactions Workflows, and Purchasing Invoice Workflows, which we will display below. We discussed workflow enhancements in part 2 of our blog series, and you can learn more here.
