Wipfli Ranks 16 on Bob Scott’s Insights Top 100 VARs

Big news from our parent company Wipfli. Announced late last month, the company appeared on the Bob Scott’s Insights Top 100 VARs, a list of the leading value added resellers in the nation in terms of revenue. Learn more about this list and the company’s position below.

About the Bob Scott’s Insights Top 100 VARs

The Bob Scott’s Insights Top 100 VARs is an annual ranking of the top value added resellers in North America based on revenues, a who’s who of the leading technology consultants in the accounting space. From the BSI 100 VAR list:

“To be considered for selection in the Top 100, firms were asked to provide the number of employees and annual revenue, along with the financial software lines they care. In cases in which firms did not disclosed, revenue was estimated, taking into account the general price range of ERP applications that these firms handle.

In cases where more than one firm reported the same revenue, they were deemed to be in a tie for the same ranking on the chart. In every case, resellers derive revenue from the sale of sources other than mid-market financial applications. These include networking, infrastructure and hosting services, along with a wide variety of other lines of business. However, all VARs selected consider ERP applications to be the core of their business.”

Top Trends from the BSI Report

As with the Accounting Today VAR 100, in which Wipfli ranked 14, the BSI Top 100 VARs List delves into some important trends to watch, noting similar trends:

  • Increased Demand for the Cloud: What many analysts are seeing is the increasing push toward the cloud, with a majority of revenues from on-premises software coming from current installed base (as opposed to new customers), and an increase in cloud-only VARs on the list.
  • Continued Push Toward Indirect and Channel Sales: Vendors are continuing to see that VARs are the way to sell, and even traditionally direct sellers are finding success selling through the channel, which may be driven by trend 3.
  • Think Small: The micro-vertical is becoming the top focus. Rather than focusing on something like ‘retail,’ VARs are finding more success working with ‘shooting range’ or ‘gun dealer.’
